    History

In 2004 Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah were classmates at MIT when they came up with the idea to create something for small companies to be able to create something equal to something a bigger company would be able to create. Two years later in 2006 is when HubSpot was founded, and they entered into the MIT’s $50,000 business plan competition where they made it to the semi-finals with HubSpot. Then the company has grown remarkably since then.

    Requirements

To use HubSpot you need a computer with an internet connection, and a email to set up an account. From there you can invite members of your team to the project and begin creating.

    Hosted/Self-Hosted

HubSpot offers hosted options as well as the option to self-host if preferred. There is a free option and a couple other paid options to fit the needs of your site.

    Cost

There is a free option which allows you to use the tools included in HubSpot, but it does not provide a hosting option. The next step is the starter option which starts at $23 a month and this includes all of the free tools plus hosting and other options. The final choice is the professional option which is $360 a month, and this includes everything is the past two options plus reports, SEO, and more.

    User Base

HubSpot is a popular option though they do have approximately 184,000 users , but it is not one of the top choices for CMS options. The free features are popular choices due to the marketing tools and then using other CMS platforms to fully design and host the website.
